Why Ski in Val D’Isere in the Alps

Unrivaled amongst most famous snowboarding mountains alongside Chamonix, Val d’Isre features 483 kilometres of pistes. The season commences during early November and culminates in the beginning of May. The purpose built French village provides for all your needs. The village stretches down the vale from La Daille until Le Fornet with the buzzing centre in Val Village. The clustering of pretty buildings comprise chic shops most of which have sprung up since the village was voted for the Winter Olympics.

Spred over three different parts Val d’Isre has enough ski able slopes for all skiers. It has a fab snow record, the domain is tremendously popular amidst pro boarders and piste hungry intermediates, however you do not need to be particularly advanced to savor what is there. It is easy to why a lot of Brits are drawn to the village, with its crazy apres ski and the range of entertainment on offer, furthermore the near proximity of Tignes permits you to head out to less busy areas if it all becomes a bit much.



Pros


A superb nightlife in the Alps. Everyone talks English. Easy access to both Val d’Isre and Tignes known as the the Espace Killy skiing area. There’s lots of vehicles and while there are many buses in the day, committed apres skiers had better head to be within walking distance of the town centre.



Cons


Overpriced. Frantic and very fashionable with English skiers, so not for holiday makers looking for a typical French town to savour a calming ski holiday. Numerous lifts can close in stormy weather conditions. Some hard blue and green runs.
